'Colorado' is a freestyle 2-6-0 Mogul type engine designed to capture the 1920's era of American railroading.
The engine features full weatherproof internal gas firing. Radio control for both speed and direction is fitted as standard.
The engine is packed with user-friendly features. The cab roof lifts up to give excellent access to all the service items in the cab such as boiler, gas, and lubrication fillers. The boiler has a special valve to cheek when it is full to the correct level, any excess water being piped away beneath the frame. Gas is easily regulated through the cab window. The lubricator has an under floor drain so that the condensed water can easily be blown out at the end of the run.
The engine is enhanced with many brass castings, which capture the flavour of American narrow-gauge locomotives. The tender is fully riveted and comes with a high level of detail.
The radio receiver and batteries are fitted in the tender. The real coal load lifts up to reach the batteries. The receiver aerial is in a wooden tool box on the rear of the tender for good radio signal reception. The loco can be supplied with a fitted water gauge as an optional extra.
