This is a scale model of the W&L 'No. 14', ex Sierra Leone Hunslet No. 85, as now running with the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway.
'No 14' was built by Hunslet in 1954 for the Sierra Leone Government Railways. It was acquired by the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway in 1975. We are modelling the loco in its 1998 condition and, as standard, it is supplied in its North Staffs Railway madder lake paint finish.
The model is internally gas fired and has twin channel radio control for speed and direction. It is fitted with our standard water level check valve and lubricator drain valve both of which are piped away below the footplate so the cab floor can be kept clean.
The engine has rechargeable batteries for both loco and transmitter, those on the loco have to be charged in situ. A suitable charger can be purchased from Pearse Locomotives.
The model is enhanced by many brass castings which add a high level of detail to this scale model.
Although of showcase standard our model of 'No 14' is very strongly built and easy to use. It will give hours of pleasure running on your garden railway.
